This book blew me away for a lot of reasons. While it is a fairy tale retelling of Cinderella, please do not be fooled. The world Kelsey Macke creates is not one of fantasy. Damsel Distressed is written with gritty and raw realism, and certain parts of this book had me bawling my eyes out.
